Save a Death Row Dog Playa Del Carmen

This volunteer run association works at improving the conditions for the dogs at CEBIAM, the Playa del Carmen Pound. Once dogs are picked up from the streets or surrendered by the owners, they have 30 days before being euthanized. Also, the city provides no funding for feeding the dogs or maintaining the facilities.

Save a Death Row Dog makes sure that every dog is published on their facebook page giving them a better chance at adoption both locally and internationally. They also help by collecting food, cleaning products and other needed supplies like medicine. 

Most of all, this association works in conjunction with several rescue associations in Canada to get the dogs out of the pound and into foster homes where they are fully vetted and then flown to their forever homes abroad.

You can help by donating, escorting an animal (very easy to do at no cost to you, just contact us for info) or volunteering your time. 

ViDAS

ViDAS, Veterinarios Internacionales Dedicados a Animales Sanos, (International Veterinarians Dedicated to Animal Health) is a group comprised of Veterinary students, Veterinarians and other animal – loving volunteers. Each year they travel to the province of Quintana Roo, Mexico providing free veterinary care in an effort to fight pet overpopulation.

They are working together with the local community to make a difference that affects not only the animals, but the people. ViDAS has long term goals of traveling throughout Latin America and other countries throughout the world in an effort to educate about and prevent pet overpopulation.

Flora, Fauna y Cultura de Mexico A.C.

This association has several different programs: marine turtle conservation, a green areas program and the conservation of local cultures. They also run Parque La Ceiba, a local park that offers various programs to community, environment-awareness, cultural expositions, a recycling area and a program to grow plants and trees.

Their efforts have resulted in the protection of more than 200,000 turtles annually, more than 400,000 trees per year, as well as the thousands of locals that have had the opportunity to visit La Ceiba Park and learn more about the environment in the process. You could always donate to this worthy cause.
